Cookie configuration

Use of permanent cookies

A permanent cookie allows us to recognize you, for example, when you visit our website again. The website can therefore be adjusted to your preferences. Even if you have given your permission for the placing of cookies, we can remember this by means of a cookie. This saves you having to repeat your preferences each time you visit, thus saving you time and making our website more enjoyable to use. Permanent cookies can be deleted through the settings of your browser.

Tracking cookies from ourselves (1st party cookies)

With your permission, we place a cookie on your equipment, which can be retrieved when you visit a website from our network. This enables us to know that, in addition to our website, you have also visited the relevant website(s) from our network, and to deduce your personal interests. The resulting profile is linked to your IP address, but not to your name, address, e-mail address and the like. This link serves only to tailor advertisements to your profile so that they are as relevant to you as possible.

Tracking cookies from our advertisers (3rd party cookies)

With your permission, our advertisers may place “tracking cookies” on your equipment. They use these cookies to keep track of the pages you visit from their network in order to build up a profile of your online surfing behavior and personal interests. This profile is partly built on the basis of similar information obtained from your visits to other websites from their network. This profile is not linked to your name, address, e-mail address and the like as known to us, but only to your IP address. This link serves only to match ads to your profile so that they are as relevant to you as possible.

Analytical cookies

With your permission, we use analytical cookies. This allows us, for example, to measure website visits (e.g. number of visitors, most visited web pages, etc.).

If you have given your consent, we use Google Analytics in this context. Cookies from Google are placed as part of the “Analytics” service. We use this service to track and get reports on how visitors use the website. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or if third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. We have no influence on this. Google Analytics collects first-party cookies, device and browser data, IP address and website activity to measure and report statistics about users’ interactions on the website. Google Analytics provides a method of partially masking your IP address. This feature is activated, which means that Google Analytics uses only part of the IP address collected instead of the full address. The information collected by Google is transferred to and stored by Google on servers that may be located in the United States. We refer in this context to Google’s privacy and cookie policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy#intro.

Social media plug-ins

“Our website includes buttons to promote (“like”) or share (“tweet”) web pages on social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. These buttons work by means of pieces of code that come from Facebook and Twitter respectively. Through this code, cookies are placed if you visit our website and have given permission for these plug-ins to be enabled. If you have given your consent, we have no influence on this. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see below under “Enabling and disabling cookies and deleting them”). Read the privacy statements of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter (which may change regularly) to read what they do with your (personal) data that they process via these cookies.”

“Information collected through social media plug-ins is anonymized to the extent possible. The information is transferred to and stored by Twitter, Facebook, Google + and LinkedIn on servers that may be located in the United States. In order for LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google + to ensure the necessary protection when processing personal data (including outside the EEA), we entered into a processor agreement with these parties, which incorporates the European Commission’s model contractual clauses on transfers of personal data outside the EEA. Based on this agreement, we take the necessary steps to encourage these parties to ensure an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.

What do we do to keep your personal data safe?

We have taken the necessary technical, organizational and contractual measures to ensure that our systems, networks, etc. are secure. Thus, you can be confident that we will handle your personal data in a secure and confidential manner.

What rights do you have regarding your personal data?

Based on data protection legislation, you have a number of rights if your personal data is processed. To read more about this, we recommend that you read our privacy policy.

When it comes to personal data processed through cookies, the following rights are important. Hence, we give them extra emphasis in this cookie policy:

Some tracking cookies are placed by third parties who, among other things, display advertisements to you via our website. You can delete these cookies centrally via Your Online Choices so that they are not placed back on a third-party website.
